I wonder if this video could've gotten similar amount of views if it was just titled "Making a Star Wars pistol" or something. It does feel like a pretty major let down it was regular tracers coming out with the original goal in mind. But yeah, good video regardless. Nice design on the gun and it was still fun to see someone try to figure out "if we're there yet" when it comes to tech. I wonder if you could've coated the bullets with something that reacts to electricity specifically and have like a small tazer inside the Han Solo barrel piece.

Also have to think that any simulant flesh wouldn't have the most noticeable burn reactions. Blistering, swelling, redness etc.

Correct me if I am wrong but I could have sworn the "plasma" in Star Wars was super heated gas that is shot out by the gun. Range being determined by either how long it takes the gas to disperse after firing and how long it takes to cool.

Sorry you lost me at tracer rounds. This isn't a plasma gun, so I stopped watching at 7.33. A scifi plasma weapon would have to work this way. Plasma is generated using a source of energy. Plasma is controlled in a way that it does not disperse over a distance but forms a "bolt" form. Hence, plasma "bolt". The plasma must impact a surface with some effect. For example, heating of the surface, or some kind of carbonisation effect as it impacts a surface. It doesn't have to do real damage to fit the bill, but I'd expect at least an increase of a surfaces area. No your flame thrower doesn't count you are projecting a "liquid" that "happens to be on fire" rather than a stream of plasma.

Actually when I read about these blasters at a suprisingly young age it did say that the blasters do fire actual projectiles, and at such immense spead that it escapes the plasma which envelopes it and basically pulls the plasma behind The projectile itself. The projectile initially penetrates, and then the following up plasma does burning and electrical damage. It happens so quickly and the round itself is moving far to quickly to see. Even the plasma would be difficult to see if it werent glowing. It would be good for fighting both organic targets and robotic targets like drones/droids. Take note of the actual designs of the blasters. Notice that they actually use magazines. The books i was reading had these blown up super in depth colored diagram illustrations and had every component labeled.

Star Wars blasters are weak and slow. Seriously the bolts fly with 0.5J and less measurable by the incredibly slow velocity that they’re flyin’. However Star Wars weapons are weak in general and not just inferior to Star Trek weapons (A Star destroyer could fire 1000 years constantly at the Enterprise and would get the shields down to 99,9%), they are even inferior to ours.

This was stupid. Tracer rounds are not blasters. And way to use sound effects to cover up the non blaster sound from the gun. You were trying to make plasma bullets and then you just go and buy tracer rounds to shoot from your gun. How about you try to come up with something better before you post a video. A total waste of my 15 minutes that I’ll never get back. I don’t see how anyone thought that this was video worth watching. Not a hater here, just totally pointless and wish I didn’t click on it. Gosh, click bait can be so frustrating. 😡
